Twin Lakes State Park announces the following events:
Friday, June 24, 2 p.m. “Geocaching 101” – $3 per person, $8 per family; 4 p.m. “Canoeing 101” – meet at Goodwin Boat Ramp; $5 per person, $4 per person for groups of 4+, no age limit; 8 p.m. “Make New Friends Campfire” – songs, new friends, stories and s'mores; meet at campfire circle behind Shelter 1;
Saturday, June 25, 11 a.m. “Crafty Campers” – get crafty at the Nature Nook; $2 per person, $8 per family; 2 p.m. “Creature Feature” – come to the Nature Nook to find out fun facts about butterflies; $2 per person, $8 per family; 8 p.m. “Tales & Traditions” – storytelling campfire full of folk lore and tall tales;
Sunday, June 26, 11 a.m. “Guided Beaver Hike” – hike around Goodwin Lake and get to know the park's most eccentric resident, the beaver; 2 p.m. “Predator vs. Prey” – do you have what it takes to survive the owl hunt; a fun twist on the classic game of freeze tag; 6:30 p.m. “Family Game Night” – bring the family for free card and board games; meet at Shelter 2;
Monday, June 27, 11 a.m. “Creature Feature” – come to the Nature Nook to discover fun facts about Virginia's native bats; $2 per person, $8 per family; 2 p.m. “Canoeing 101” – meet at Goodwin Lake Boat Ramp; $5 per person, $4 per person for groups of 4+, no age limit; 8:30 p.m. “Movies Under the Moon” – a free outdoor movie; bring food or drink, chairs, and blankets; call the office for more information and to see what movie is playing.
