June 30 – Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Mary Dunkum, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Friday, July 1, Fern Dunnavant and Mamie Chesaldine, both of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, July 2; and Agnes Ogle, of Cumberland, celebrating on Monday, July 4.
Pete and Annie May Miles visited in the home of his sister, Frances Smith in Dillwyn on Friday afternoon, June 24.
The Ashburn Family Reunion was held on Saturday, June 25, at Bear Creek Lake State Park in Cumberland. A large crowd attended and enjoyed great food, fun, fellowship and music. The highlight of the day and for the family was Debbie Trent's attendance. She played her guitar and sang.
Our prayers and thoughts go out this week to all those who are sick and shut-in.
Visiting in the home of Barry and Linda Miles in Cumberland briefly on Monday, June 27 was Sue Lipscomb of Cumberland.
A 90th birthday celebration was held in honor of Grace McCraw Ownby of Farmville, on Saturday at Cedar Baptist Church in Dillwyn. A large crowd packed the church fellowship hall and enjoyed a great time of music, food, and fellowship.
In observance of Independence Day weekend celebration. Let us remember those and their families who have fought and continued to fight for our freedom. Remember to wear your seat belt and obey the speed limits and allow plenty of time to reach your destination safely.
The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Monday, July 11 at 5 p.m. at the Restoration Outreach Church, located on U.S. Route 15 South of Spouses Corner. All members are asked to attend and bring a covered dish for the evening meal. The special guest speaker is Henry Fulcher, of WFLO Radio Station in Farmville.
