Pam and Tim Morris, of Dillwyn, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Faith Thompson, to Richard Craig Dunkum, son of Diane and Dickie Dunkum, of New Canton. Amanda is also the daughter of Benny Thompson, of Nelson.

Amanda graduated from Buckingham County High School in 2008 and will be graduating from Longwood University in May. She is the granddaughter of June and Ertle Thompson, of Charlottesville, Lacy and Ruth Paulette, of Charlottesville, Shirley and Claude Morris Sr., of Curdsville, and the late Margaret Paulette, of Charlottesville.

Chip graduated from Buckingham County High School in 2003 and from the University of Virginia in 2008. He is the grandson of Slim Christian and his late wife Marie Christian, of Arvonia, and the late Bertha and Lum Dunkum, of New Canton.

A May 7 wedding is planned.
