February 3 – “Grandparents are great history books.”

Happy Birthday is wished to Mrs. Betty Arnold, of Troutville, Feb. 6.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray (Betty) Noblin met Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Arrington, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry (Shirley) Richardson for lunch on Sunday following church at Ruby Tuesday's. They were having a late Christmas.

Mrs. Shirley Fulcher attended the monthly luncheon of the former employees and family members of the Amelia Dress Factory. This month the luncheon was held at Merk's Place.

Sean Stockton visited his grandparents, Richard and Margaret Stockton, last Friday.

Mr. and Mrs. George (Shirley) Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Don (Betty) Meadows, and Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Stockton met at Merk's Place on Saturday for fellowship and dinner.

The women of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church at Prospect served dinner Jan. 27 to the Baptist Student Union of Longwood University and Hampden-Sydney.

Mr. and Mrs. John (Shirley) Fulcher attended the birthday celebration at the Pizza Hut on Sunday night for their daughter in-law, Mary Ann Fulcher.

The Senior Adult group of Glenn Memorial Baptist Church enjoyed dinner and the talk by Bill Hogan on Triad. He gave them many helpful pointers to keep themselves and their belongings safe.

Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. Special prayers are needed for Frances Moore, Judith Reynolds, Aneta French, Ray Kelsey, Lee Coleman, and Bobbie Leatherwood.

The Presbyterian Women of Davis Memorial at Prospect will meet on Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the church.

Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will fill the pulpit this Sunday.

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Kemper Beasley III will fill the pulpit on Sunday.

Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Road in Prospect. two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
