GOLD HILL, Feb. 17 – Jessie Wanda Stout (Mammaw), 81, born August 11, 1929 in Buckhannnon, WV, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at her home in Gold Hill.
Mrs. Stout was a teacher's aide at Gold Hill School for many years, a cook and baker at Fork Union Motor Lodge Restaurant (where she was known as Momma Stout) for several years. She was considered Mammaw throughout the community by young and old alike.
She is survived by seven children, David Michael, Richard Basil, Steven Ray, Robert Dewey, Norman Keith, William Russell, and Jessie Ruth Stout; sister, Maxine Zirkle of California; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Arvonia United Methodist Church in Arvonia on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at a later date in West Virginia.
