CHARLOTTESVILLE, Feb. 10 – Frances Oliver Easter, 86, passed away at her home in Charlottesville on Tuesday, February 8, 2011. She was born on October 11, 1924 in Farmville, a daughter of the late Otto M. and Bessie Mann Oliver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth O. Hudson and Margaret O. Wilson, two brothers, Robert E. (Pete) Oliver and Thomas W. Oliver, and a son-in-law, James R. Jarman Jr.
An accomplished seamstress, she was gifted in designing and creating beautiful window treatments, draperies, and bedding. She delighted in refinishing and upholstering antique furniture and generously shared her talents with others. She enjoyed interior design, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Her positive attitude and determination as she battled terminal cancer was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Mrs. Easter is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Clarence V. Easter; her children, Linda E. Jarman of Atlanta, GA; Barry N. Easter and wife, Elizabeth (Beth) of White Hall, Jeffery L. Easter and wife, Melissa of Charlottesville, and Gary W. Easter and wife, Catherine of Charlottesville; grandchildren, S. Todd Jarman and wife, Polly of Phoenix, AZ, M. Tyler Jarman and wife, Carla of Madison, GA, Valorie E. Ford and husband, Davin, Vanessa L. Easter, Caleb J. Easter, Adam J. W. Easter and wife, Samantha, Carter N. Easter, and Taylor A. Easter, all of Charlottesville; seven great-grandchildren, Wesley, Parker, and Emmie Jarman, Grayson and Cooper Jarman, and Aubrey and Zane Ford. Other family members include her sister, Mildred O. Robertson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 10, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the evening at Teague Funeral Home in Charlottesville and on Friday, February 11, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home in Farmville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Farmville.
