Fielden F. Lovelace

PAMPLIN, Jan. 25 – Fielden Franklin Lovelace, 76, of Pamplin, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his home.

He was born January 11, 1935 in Rugby, to Basil Edgar Lovelace and Zuria Glenna Farmer Lovelace. He served in the 101st Airborne and the 2nd Armored Division of the Army during the Korean conflict. He was a master plumber-pipefitter and retired from the State of Virginia in 2009. Mr. Lovelace was also a member of the American Legion Post #104 in Appomattox.

He was survived by his wife, Mary Emma Pearthree Lovelace of the home; four daughters and their spouses, Marilyn and Daryl Erb of Pamplin, Virgie and Quantry Pembelton of Amelia, Roberta Lynn Keen of Meherrin, and Sherry Lovelace of Farmville; a son, Basil Edgar Lovelace II of Pamplin; two brothers and their spouses, Jesse Phipps Lovelace and Mary Katherine of Bel Air, MD and Ralph Charles Lovelace of Fayetteville, NC; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 16 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, William Edgar Lovelace, Arthur V. Lovelace and Kelly C. Lovelace, a sister, Virgie May Lovelace Davis and a great-grandson, Charles R. Heck.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 19, at Haw Orchard Baptist Church, Rugby, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Randy Lovelace officiated with The Grayson County VFW Post 7726 conducting military rites.

Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is serving the Lovelace family.
