December 2 – “Let every day start with a song in your heart.”
The Prospect Volunteer Fire Department will be serving lunch each Saturday now through Jan. 1 (with the exception of Christmas Day) from 11 a.m. to 1p.m. for the hunters. The menu will include beans, cornbread, hot dogs and bologna burgers.
Ray Kelsey was delighted to be able to spend Thanksgiving Day at home with his family.
Sean Stockton spent last Tuesday with his grandparents, Richard and Margaret Stockton.
Frances Southall has returned from Kinston, NC. She had an extended stay with her cousin, Novella Thomas.
Cindy, A.J. and Charles Southall had Thanksgiving breakfast on Thursday morning. After which, Charles and A.J. had lunch in Abilene with Adam and Lisa Southall, and children, Tabitha, David and Brandin.
Cindy traveled to Kinston, NC, and had Thanksgiving dinner with her mother, Frances, cousin Novella Thomas, and son, Jeff. Frances and Cindy returned home on Saturday.
Charles Southall Jr.'s children, Taylor and Jesse, traveled with their Mother to West Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with their maternal grandmother.
A.J. Southall, a fifth-grader at Prince Edward Middle School, earned honor roll with 5 A's and 1 B+.
Cindy Southall celebrated her birthday Nov. 30th. She was 29, again. When Cindy was a little girl, her great Aunt Hattie Thompson would always visit on Nov. 30, so they could celebrate their birthdays together.
Ms. Susan Campbell and son, John Marsden spent their Thanksgiving vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Chris (Billie Jo) Waddell in Laurel, MI. They had a most delightful time as well as eating way too much. Billie Jo is the daughter of Susan Campbell.
Mr. and Mrs. William “Bill” (Helen) McCraw had her son, Wesley Wilson visit them for Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. John (Shirley) Fulcher were thankful that most of their children and grandchildren joined them for Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. Ray Noblin were joined for Thanksgiving by her sister and her husband, Shirley and Henry Richardson.
Mr. and Mrs. Don (Betty) Meadows and son Donald shared a Thanksgiving table with Dr. and Mrs. William (Carol) Schall.
Lois Gager and Betty Meadows spent Saturday in Appomattox shopping.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Floyd entertained their family on Thanksgiving Day.
Mr. and Mrs. Carl (Sadie) Kelsey were very thankful to have Mr. and Mrs. Kaleb (Nancy) Kelsey and children Nick and Abby along with Robin Dixon, Jennifer Kelsey and son Justin Chilton, Mr. and Mrs. Jim (Peggy) Early of Richmond, and Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Rachel) Early join them for Thanksgiving.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Stockton enjoyed sharing their Thanksgiving dinner with their son and his family, Mr. and Dr. Lon (Mary Jo) Stockton and Sean. Saturday morning found Richard and Margaret traveling to Hampton for fellowship and more good food with her cousin and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene (Frances Ann) Motley and Rion; joining them were Jean Derrenbacker of Richmond, Gwen Paulson of Chester and Rachel Pearson of Lawrenceville.
Thanksgiving Day found Mrs. Flora Bolt visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas (Betty Jean) Bolt and Stacy; they were joined for lunch by Garland Woodson. Later on Thursday Flora visited Madeline Kokotinis.
Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this
time. Special prayers are needed for Ray Kelsey, Mary Lula Allen, John Ray Wilkerson, Pat Kellum and Mary Overton.
Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with

The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m.
