MEHERRIN, Nov. 2 – William D. Wilson, 66, of Meherrin, passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 at his home.

He was born in East Orange, NJ, November 15, 1943 to the late James S. and Janet Doig Wilson. He made his career as a jet mechanic with the US Air Force, 177th Fighter Group, and was a volunteer with the Laureldale Volunteer Fire Company.

Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Carol; three daughters, Ann Zeigler of Greensboro, NC, Patty Etheridge (Chuck) of Woolwich Township, NJ and Angie Jillson (David) of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; brother, James S. Wilson of Benjamin Franklin Township, NJ; and five grandchildren, Steven Simpson, Anthony Etheridge, Brittany Jillson, and Samantha Jillson.

A graveside committal was to be held privately at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.

Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, served the family.
