Azaryah Baggott, 17, of Cartersville, earned the place of principal cellist in the South Central Virginia Senior Regional Or-chestra (SRO) for 2010. SRO is one of four regional orchestras held in Virginia each fall, and is the preliminary step for All-State Orchestra, held each spring. About 300 high school musicians auditioned in September for the 2010 SCSRO event to be held this weekend. Azaryah came in first of the 53 cellists who audi-tioned for one of 14 seats. The concert, which is open to the pub-lic, will be held Saturday, Nov. 13, at 3 p.m. at Meadowbrook High School in Richmond.
