Remember this weekend the Prospect Volunteer FD Auxiliary will sponsor its Bi-Annual “Twice is Nice” Children's Consignment Sale on Friday, Oct. 29, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8 a.m. to noon. The sale will take place at the Prospect Volunteer Fire Dept., 45 Campbell Hill Road, Prospect. Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Judy) Mottley and Mr. and Mrs. John (Shirley) Fulcher traveled the Blue Ridge Parkway on Sunday. They report the leaves were very pretty with lots of yellow.
Mrs. Sue Amos and Vickie Johns, of Amelia, attended the Festival of the Grapes on Saturday in Powhatan.
Garland Woodson has returned home from a short visit to Myrtle Beach, SC, to visit a Navy buddy.
Mr. and Mrs. Don (Betty) Meadows met Mr. and Mrs. Andy (Julia) Shotwell, Zack, Josh, and Kate in Powhatan at Allen's Restaurant to start celebrating Don's birthday a day early. His birthday was Oct. 25.
Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Stockton traveled to Hampton last Thursday to attend the funeral of Margaret's aunt, Mauree Jones Paulson.
Mrs. Flora Bolt attended the Harvest Stew at the Woodlands on Friday afternoon. Those joining her at her table were Wilfred Hedrick from Brookview, Cindy Hedrick and Mary from the Moore Center, John Varner and his son, John Jr. The food, which included chicken stew, beef stew, chili, hot dogs, apple fritters and cupcakes, was delicious. The staff was dressed for Halloween. There was a Scary Street, Country Street, hay ride, cake walk and a slide for children as well as other interesting activities. This was a fun filled afternoon.
Family, friends and neighbors are sending special get well wishes to all those who are sick at this time. Special prayers are needed Donald Meadows Jr., Ray Kelsey, Mary Lula Allen and Mary Overton.
Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church at Tuggle invites everyone to Sunday School at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. The Rev. Chuck Klotzberger will be with them this Sunday.
The membership of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church at Prospect invites you to come and worship with them every Sunday; Sunday School is at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. This being a fifth Sunday there will only be Sunday School.
Calvary Chapel-Farmville invites you to worship with them on Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Calvary Chapel-Farmville is located at 45 Simpson Rd in Prospect, two miles west of Dowdy's Corner just off of US 460.
