What a miracle to witness the Chilean miners pulled up from their would-be tomb deep down inside the earth.

This was a body count worth the largest headlines possible.

Somebody else saved.

Nobody died.

And we all kept counting the bodies emerging from the rescue capsule as they stepped out into the light to embrace their friends and loved ones.

The rescue was a technological wonder but human spirit shone most brilliantly and from deep down inside that mine most brightly, giving those above something to reach toward.

But there aren't just mine rescues in Chile. There are people stuck at the bottom of life's “mines” within reach of each of us. Lights shining. Lights to shine. Hands to grasp. Somebody to raise.
