NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Planning Commission and the Town Council for the Town of Dillwyn will hold a joint public hearing on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Dillwyn Town Hall, located on Main Street in said Town, pursuant to the request of Kathy Gormus, present tenant and Straight Street, Inc., prospective tenant, of the hereinafter described lands, in compliance with Section 5-1-25 of the Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Dillwyn. Said request deals with the regulation of the providing of public amusement by Kathy's Kitchen as a “Youth Coffee House” during evening and other hours on weeknights and/or weekends at 1171 Main Street, Dillwyn, Virginia, formerly known as Jones Store. The lands subject to this proposal are described as follows:
TAX MAP NO. 125.4-1-85: All that certain lot or parcel of land, with all improvements thereon and appurtenances thereunto belonging, situated in the Town of Dillwyn, Curdsville Magisterial District of Buckingham County, Virginia, containing two-tenths (0.2) of an acre, more or less, said lands being bounded by U. S. Route #15 (Main Street), lands now or formerly of P. D. Seay, lands now or formerly of J. A. Seay et ux, and lands of Buckingham Branch Railroad. Said lands being the same conveyed unto J. Abner Seay and Shirley R. Seay, as tenants by the entireties, from Virginia M. Jones, widow, by deed dated June 12, 1990 and recorded in the Clerk's Office of the Circuit Court of Buckingham County in Deed Book 166, at page 55 et seq. Thereafter, fee simple title in and to said lands vested by operation of law pursuant to the survivorship clause in the aforesaid deed in Shirley R. Seay upon the death of her husband, J. Abner Seay, on July 13, 2004.
This public hearing and issuance of any conditional use permit are hereby advertised pursuant to Subsection 12-1-2 of said Zoning Ordinance of the Town of Dillwyn. A copy of the present Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map may be inspected during normal business hours at the Dillwyn Town Hall on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except holidays.
