Thomas Owen, Jr., 83 Of Green Bay Dies October 17

GREEN BAY, Oct. 21 – Thomas Venable Owen Jr., 83, of Green Bay passed away Friday, October 17, 2008 in Farmville. He was born November 4, 1924 in Prince Edward Co., the son of the late Thomas V. Owen Sr. and Elizabeth Havens Owen. He was the husband of Dorothea (Dot) Owen.

Mr. Owen served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked with Buffalo Shook Company, Inc. in Farmville and was a farmer. He was a member of the Ruritan Club and an elder at College Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his wife, his children, Sally O. Reed and Mary O. Perini and husband, Tony all of Farmville, and Susan O. Clark and husband, David of Midlothian; a sister, Ann Owen Bowling of Powhatan; and four grandchildren, Tiffany Adkins, Todd and Megan Buchanan and Carson Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Charles C., John H., and Daniel Owen.

A funeral service was held Monday, October 20, at College Presbyterian Church with interment in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to College Presbyterian Church.

Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
