“Papa Jack” Guinn, 82 Farmville Native Dies January 3

FLORIDA, January 6 – Jack “Papa Jack” Guinn, 82, passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009 from kidney failure.

Mr. Guinn was born August 14, 1926 in Flagpond, TN, the son of Dennis Wade and Adele (Sams) Guinn. He moved to the Haines City area in 1958 from Farmville, and was the owner of Guinn's Super “T” Truckstop for 20 years in Haines City. Mr. Guinn was a member of Stillwater Christian Life Center, Haines City, and a Navy veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nevada, of Davenport, FL; six sons, Jack Guinn Jr., Johnny Guinn, Donald Guinn, Jimmy Guinn, Ronnie Guinn, and Dennis Guinn; two daughters, Mary Lou Adams and Adele Christian, all of Haines City; three sisters, Alice Spillman, Pauline Shores, and Kathryn Lockner, all of Farmville; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City. Services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Stillwater Christian Life Center, Haines City, FL.
