SEPTEMBER 23 – Martha Blake Boatwright, 85, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 4, 2008, in Florida. She was born in Buckingham County to the late Ambrose and Winifield Blake. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Boatwright Sr.

She is survived by her sons, Fred L. Boatwright Jr. and Donn W. Boatwright and wife, Kay; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Graphet) Johnson and Pam (Tucker) Patteson; sister-in-law, Nancy B. Moss; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, Sept. 25 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at the Buckingham Baptist Church Cemetery, Gold Hill.

The family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association.
