CUMBERLAND, July 21 -Marilyn Ann Lovell Gruentzel, 80, of Cumberland died peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, July 18, 2009, in Farmville. Born, December 5, 1928 in Clinton, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Coulton Lovell.

She was a seamstress, a wonderful wife and mother and an organist at St. Theresa Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald A. Gruentzel of Cumberland; three sons, Donald A. Gruentzel Jr. and wife, Vivian of Cartersville, Philip J. Gruentzel and wife, Susan of Westminster, MD and Thomas M. Gruentzel and wife, Nancy of Mount Airy, MD; a daughter, Kristina Gruentzel Bennett of Cumberland, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Gerard Lovell and wife, Maryellen of Nashville, TN and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Lovell of Morris, IL and Lura Lovell of Tucson, AZ.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 24, at St. Theresa Catholic Church.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Thursday with a wake service beginning at 8 p.m.

A committal service and entombment will take place at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, Silver Springs, MD at 1 p.m., Saturday.
