PROSPECT, August 12 -Mrs. Lucy Arrington Simpson, 86 of Prospect passed away Thursday, August 7, 2008 at her residence. She was born October 19, 1921 in Charlotte Court House, the daughter of the late David Stokley and Grace S. Arrington. She was the widow of Letcher Simpson.

She is survived by her brothers, Kenneth Arrington and wife, Shirley C. and Thomas Arrington and wife, Pat; sisters, Hattie Templeton, Ruth Garrow, Shirley Richardson and husband, Henry, Betty Noblin and husband, Ray, Faye Meredith and husband, John and Bessie Munford; numerous nieces and nephews and two special caregivers, Susan Lickey and Donna Turner. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Melvin, Ralph, Howard and Paul Arrington.

A funeral service was held Monday, August 11, at Prospect United Methodist Church with interment in Appomattox P.E. Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad or to the American Cancer Society.

Puckett Funeral Home, Farmville, was in charge of arrangements.
