James D. Chalmers, 68 Of Cumberland Dies Sunday

CUMBERLAND, Feb. 24 -James D. Chalmers, 68, of Cumberland, a retired CW04 Warrant Officer, U.S. Navy, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2004 In his home.
He served his country honorably for 25 years. He was an avid fisherman, scuba diver, loved boats and the water. His granddaughters were his life.
Raised in Beaver, PA, he retired to Virginia and made Cumberland his home.
Mr. Chalmers is survived by his wife of 46 years. Pearl Smith Chalmers; one daughter and son-in-law, Rowena “Ro” and Brian Johnson; devoted son, James D. Chalmers, II; granddaughters, Francesca and Cassandra; four brothers, David, Robert, Thomas, and Quinn Chalmers and a devoted friend, Fred Hodges of Norfolk.
