DILLWYN, July 15 – J. Cecil Shumaker, 68, of Dillwyn, died Monday, July 14, 2008 in Farmville. He was born January 19, 1940 in Buckingham, the son of the late James Mathew Shumaker and Viola Banton Shumaker.

He is survived by a son, Brian Shumaker of Lynchburg; two sisters, Elizabeth S. Moss of Mechanicsville and Edna S. Moss of Dillwyn; two brothers, Robert Shumaker of Dillwyn and George Shumaker of Mechanicsville; four nieces; four nephews; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home.
