Funeral Service Held February 25 For Susie Reid

MARCH 11 – Susie Frances-Glover Berryman Reid passed away quietly on Thursday, February 18, 2010, while a patient at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg.

Mrs. Reid was born on July 1, 1917, in Boston, MA, the daughter of Louis Glover and Tellie Green Glover.

Most of her life has been spent in the Pamplin area where she was a member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. As a member she worked with the Missionary, sang with the Senior Choir, was an Usher and taught Sunday School. For many years she worked at Stackpole. Recently, the Senior Center in Pamplin was one of her favorite activities.

She was married to Stanford Giles Reid in 1936 and to this union three daughters were born.

Mrs. Reid was predeceased by her parents, her husband, two sisters and three brothers. She leaves devoted family members, three daughters, Edith Crawley of the home, Wilma Johnson and Myrtle Scott of Baltimore, MD; seven grand-children, Cynthia, Nicole, Kenneth, Monica (Herbert), Kendall, Adoniran and Nathaniel Jr. (Vonda); 12 great-grandchildren, Rasheed, Meisha, Janele, Maya, Adrianjanna, Alijah, Aniyah, Adonirank Vaughan, Kendall, Anasia and Andre; five great-great-grandchildren, Zion, Ayannah, Alex, Isaiah, and Adrian; three brothers, Joe (Edith) of Lynchburg, Walter (Joan) of Richmond, and Sam Berryman of Pamplin; a devoted son-in-law, Nathaniel; two sis-ters-in-law, Cula Berryman and Arlene Reid; a brother-in-law, Clarence Reid; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service was held February 25 at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church, Prospect.
