ARVONIA, August 14 – Audrey Toney Newton, 84, of Arvonia, died Monday, August 11, 2008. She was born May 9, 1924 in Buckingham County, the daughter of the late Earl M. Toney and Carrie T. Toney, and widow of John C. Newton.

She is survived by her children, Johnny Leon Newton of Gold Hill, Carolyn Newton Moss and husband, Howard of Dillwyn, Connie Newton Thompson and husband, Robert of Fluvanna, Annette Newton Allen and husband, Danny of Dillwyn, and Willard Layne Newton of Arvonia; sister, Shirley Childress of New Canton; brother, Wayne B. Toney of Fluvanna; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday (today) at the Dunkum Funeral Home, with interment in Rocky Mt. United Methodist Church Cemetery.
