Adderson “A.O.” Allen Successful Farmer Dies November 1

NOVEMBER 4 – Adderson O. “A.O.” Allen Jr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 1, 2008.

The oldest son of Os and Emma East Allen, he was born 90 years ago in the home where he was currently living, the old East home place. He lived his entire life in Prospect where he had been a successful farmer since an early age.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Lula Jordan Allen; a son, Larry Jordan Allen and wife, Connie; a daughter, Vera Ellen Allen and grandson, Charles Arthur Allen all of Prospect; sister, Lorene Allen Roberts of Prince George; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Earl and Cliff Allen, and sisters, Virginia Allen, Rose Whitter and Wilma Speight.

Mr. Allen was a life-long member of Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church in Prospect where he was an elder.

Services were held at Davis Memorial on Monday, Nov. 3, with interment in the Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, served the family.
