Walter H. Wright 87 Retired Farmer Dies Friday 24th

OCTOBER 28 – Walter Horace Wright, 87, of Farmville, died Friday, October 24, 2003 in Lynchburg.

He was born January 15, 1916 in Farmville, a son of the late Walter Elijah and Annie Smith Wright. He was the widower of Doris Orange Wright.

Mr. Wright was a retired farmer and construction worker.

He is survived by one son, Harold Wright and his wife, Frances of Tarboro, NC; one daughter, Mary Jo Hancock and her husband, Dannie of Rustburg; four sisters, Annie W. Crowder and Gladys W. Loan both of Farmville, Virginia W. Newman of Rhoadesville and Sarah W. Jenkins of Green Bay; seven grandchildren, Anna Satterwhite, Kristi Wright, Amy Wright, Jennifer Grau, Sara Jackson, Sheila Mason and Brian Hughes and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Bernard Walter Wright; one brother, Robert Hamlet Wright and two sisters, Paulina W. Bollinger and Naomi W. Parker.

A funeral service was held 2 p.m. Monday in the Chapel of Shorter Funeral Home, Farmville, with interment in Trinity Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Prince Edward County Rescue Squad or Southside Community Hospital.
