Rosa Martin Inge, 90 Of Farmville, Dies Tues., May 25

MAY 27 – Rosa Martin Inge, 90, of Farmville, passed away Tuesday evening, May 25, 2010 in Farmville. She was born February 21, 1920 in Appomattox County. She was the daughter of the late Lacy and Anna Cawthorne Martin.

Mrs. Inge was educated in the schools of Appomattox County and in Lynchburg City Schools. She attended Radford College for two years then received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Longwood College. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teacher's Sorority for 30 years before having to resign for health problems. She taught school in Amherst, Appomattox, Cumberland and Prince Edward County Schools and at Prince Edward Academy for a total of 29 years. She was a Sunday school teacher for over 50 years and a member of Heritage Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Diann Byrd Inge and Jane Annette Inge; son-in-law, Matthew Witkowski and grandson, Jesse Mathias Inge Witkowski. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Richard Dabney Inge, her sister, Elvira Bernice Martin and her brother, John Lacy Martin.

A funeral service will be held Friday, May 28, at 11 a.m. at Rocks Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

Family will receive friends Thursday evening (tonight) 6-8 p.m. at the Puckett Funeral Home.
