Funeral Service Held July 11 For Bennie Holman, 86

MADISON HEIGHTS, July 13 – Bennie Truman Holman, 86, of Madison Heights, died Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Centra Hospice House in Lynchburg. Born in Farmville, January 30, 1924, he was a son of the late Willie Tandy Holman and Sallie Layne Holman. He was a retired me-chanic/attendant and had been employed with Watts Chevron (Childress Exxon) for 44 years. He enjoyed the outdoors where he loved gardening, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Sue Holman (George Hawkins) of Madison Heights, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his par-ents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Chris-tine Campbell Holman; sister, Susie Crowder, and three broth-ers, Tandy Holman, Frank Holman and Billy Holman.

Funeral services were held July 11 at Byrum-Parr Funeral Home with burial in Jonesboro Cemetery.
