Donald S. Webb, 86 Of Appomattox Dies Friday

PPOMATTOX, Dec. 2 -Donald S. Webb, 86, of Appomattox, died Friday, November 28, 2003 in Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born in Appomattox County , May 1, 1917, he was a son of the late James Adam and Mamie Beasley Webb. Mr. Webb was the oldest male member of Hollywood Baptist Church, a farmer, and had retired from the Appomattox County Landfill as a machine operator.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Slagle Webb; a son, Matthew Adam Webb and his wife, Anne; two grandchildren, Josef Adam Webb and Cora Sydney Webb all of Asheville, NC; his step-son, Steve Cawthorn and stepdaughter, Donna C. Miller and her husband. Jimmy all of Appomattox; two sisters. Lizzie W. Jamerson and her husband, Alfred of Pamplin and Cassie W. Jennings and her husband, Garland of Richmond; two aunts, Nannie B. Proffitt and Ellen Beasley both of Dillwyn and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday at Hollywood Baptist Church with the Rev. Bob Millis and the Rev. Ed Griffin officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
