BUCKINGHAM, October 14 — Maurice P. Manchester, 82, of Buckingham died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Hunter McGuire Veterans Hospital in Richmond. He was born November 2, 1931 in Warwick, Rhode Island, the only child of the late Maurice Gladding and Miriam Phillips Manchester. The family moved to Buckingham when he was a teenager.

Raleigh Lewis Anderson Sr., 79

ESMONT, October 9 — Raleigh Lewis Anderson Sr., 79, of Esmont, passed on to be with the Lord on Monday, October 6, 2014 at his residence. He was born on May 29, 1935 in South Boston, a son of the late John W. and Hester (Sterling) Anderson.

Mr. Anderson grew up on a tobacco farm in Prince Edward County near Green Bay.  He loved singing hymns in church and he also sang at a local radio station.  He proudly served his country for two years in the US Army during the Korean War.  He was employed as manager of Pantops Self Storage in Charlottesville for the last 15 years.

Verna Virginia St. John Waller, 78

KEYSVILLE, October 9 — Verna Virginia St. John Waller, 78, of Keysville, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 from complications associated with a stroke. She was the wife of the late Garland Byrd Waller for 63 years.

She was born December 16, 1935 to the late Martin Terry St. John and Eva Lloyd St. John and was one of eight children including Lorena (Gene) Parsons of Appomattox, Earl (Owen-deceased) Waller of Brookneal, Mack (Mary) St. John of Charlotte Court House, William “Bill” (Sarah-deceased) St. John of Meherrin and Carroll (Cora) St. John of Madisonville.
