Mrs. Snoddy worked 27 years for Bill and Bonnie Shelton at KFC. She loved listening to bluegrass music and working with her flowers. She also loved caring for her granddog “Skeeter”. Tuesday, May 5, 2015

MAY 5 — William Hickson Drumeller Jr., 80, died peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2015. He was born in Farmville, October 24, 1934, the only child of Ola (White) Drumeller and William Hickson Drumeller, who died when he was two. After his father’s death, he and his mother lived with the Drumeller family until his mother married John C. Steck, who he greatly admired and respected. He frequently talked about his early childhood, speaking most affectionately of his favorite “Aunt Bar” (Martha Drumeller). He met and married Barbara J. LYNCHBURG, April 30 — Elinor Bass Hopkins, 79, died on Monday, April 20, 2015 in Lynchburg. Born in Alcoa, Tennessee, on December 25, 1935, she was the daughter of Beatrice Irene Dreher and Beverly Calvin Bass.
Mrs. Hopkins grew up on the family farm in Rice, was a 1953 graduate of Farmville High School, and a graduate of Maryville College in Tennessee. In 1964, she returned to Virginia with her husband and young children to Lynchburg, the town she loved immediately, and that became her home. Thursday, April 30, 2015
APRIL 30 — Hazel Allen, longtime resident of Farmville, passed away peacefully with her family on Monday, April 27, 2015. She was a sweet, spunky lady who enjoyed, more than anything, helping others. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Tatum Hailey; a son, Frank J. Hailey, III and his wife, Kim of Farmville; his daughter, Kacie A. Hailey of Meherrin; his mother, Eva Hailey of Amelia; a sister, Nancy Hailey Clark and her husband, Dan of Mechanicsville and four grandchildren, Jackson, Emma, Matthew and Ava.
