The tag in the front of the former library book read “Discarded” with a last checkout date of September 16, 1995. It was a remarkably short run for such an interesting book. Star Trek Memories, penned by William Shatner with Chris Kreski, copyrighted in 1993, was released from its circulation duties after only six stamps.

A rather wonderful-sound made its way along the street in front of The Herald some years ago. Two of us sat at our desks, first soaking in the melodious rumblings of the engine idling on the street before giving up the guessing game and one of us peeking out of the second story window to satisfy the curiosity.
