My rest is a weapon
Against the oppression
Of man’s obsession
To control things
— Josh Garrels
Several years ago, I attended a festival in North Carolina where Josh Garrels was performing. I was psyched. The Wild Goose Festival is made up of believers, thinkers and doubters who come together to celebrate life, enjoy art and discuss things like justice and faith. There are beer and hymn sings, late-night dance parties, times of silent meditation and lots of discussions. I also couldn’t wait to hear Garrels sing live.

A New Job

While there were some fluff pieces, I felt I was doing that with many of my articles at The Herald. Not only making a difference, but making a difference in the community where I grew up.
