July 3 — Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, Jane Cooke, Stacy Givens, Sam Givens and Glenna Mahunik, all of Brook Neal, enjoyed an afternoon of great food, fun and fellowship at a Dillwyn restaurant on Friday afternoon, June 27.

TUGGLE AREA NEWS

July 3 — “You not only can’t take it with you but you cannot send for it later.”

The Prospect Historical Society met July 1 at the Prospect Fire House. During the meeting the drawing was held for the 32-inch TV, $50 gas card and the $25 cash prize. Margee McCloud won the TV, Sue Franklin won the gas card and Susan Campbell won the cash. The Society members thank everyone for their support.

Photo Contest

There’s still time to enter the Buckingham Chamber of Commerce photo contest. This contest is open to photographers of all skill levels and ages, residents and visitors alike with a grand prize of $50 and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons to be awarded in four categories. To participate, submitted photos must have been taken in Buckingham County with the location identified and fit into one of the four themed divisions: landscapes/rural images, points of interest, local events, and wildlife/domestic animals. The original photographer must submit all photos as an 8x10 matted print (digital image must also be available upon request) with no copyright or watermarks on photos. There is a limit of three submissions per photographer; each submission must include its own separate submission form. All photos submitted become property of the Chamber and may be used on the Chamber’s website and publications; however, the photographer will be given credit for the photos used.

June 26 — Happy belated birthday wishes go out to Dale Midkiff and Frances Smith, both of Dillwyn, celebrating on Saturday, June 28; Mary Dunkum, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Tuesday, July 1; Fern Donavan and Mamie Chesaldine, both of Dillwyn, celebrating on Wednesday, July 2.

Congratulations to Ray and Patsy Miles of Cumberland. The couple will celebrate their wedding anniversary on Friday, June 27.
