"Farmville is a growing marketplace"

We, at The Farmville Herald, pledge to keep up with the growth of the area and continue to offer a product that is flexible, timely, trustworthy and welcomed into area homes twice each week.

Farmville is a unique rural town, serving as the retail center for over 70,000 people in the counties of Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland, Nottoway and Prince Edward.

The following may be useful as a summary or as additional information to assist in your planning process.

The Farmville Herald is published twice weekly on Wednesday and Friday with a paid circulation of 8,786 and is the hometown newspaper for Prince Edward, Cumberland and Buckingham Counties. Traditionally, the Wednesday paper is the larger of the two and contains the grocery ads as well as the weekend sale ads of our larger advertisers.  However, our Friday edition normally carries the Real Estate advertising for the area, as well as other retail, service and grocery ads. 

The Herald's TMC (total market coverage) product, The Free News, is published weekly on Tuesday, and is in newspaper format with a tabloid front page.  Its computer controlled circulation of 8,809 is distributed by third-class mail and sent to all postal patrons in our market area who do not receive The Herald.  This method of distribution eliminates duplication and affords our advertisers the opportunity to blanket the market area with their messages when used in combination with The Herald.

Column width in inches for ads in the newspaper are:

Advertisements in the newspaper must be at least as many inches in depth as columns in width, (example 1 col. x 1 inch,  2 col. x 2 inches, 3 col. x 3 inches, etc.)
