Vehicle fire on Goshen Road in Cumberland

CVFD firefighters responded Wednesday afternoon to a vehicle fire in the 200 block of Goshen Road in Cumberland. The blaze was 15 feet from a structure on the property. From left, firefighters Bradley Ingle and Ben Pfeiffer work to extinguish the fire.

A vehicle fire near a house in the 200 block of Goshen Road in Cumberland was quickly brought under control by the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) Wednesday, Feb. 19.
CVFD member Ben Pfeiffer said units arrived on scene shortly after 2 p.m. to find the burning SUV approximately 15 feet from a house on the property. The fire was quickly extinguished with no damage to the residence.
Firefighters are not sure what caused the fire, but the blaze is believed to have originated from the vehicle’s engine compartment. No injuries were reported.
CVFD Engine 24 and CVFD Tanker 22 responded to the incident.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
